Hydraulics, is a system used for generating, controlling, and transmitting power, through the use of pressurized liquids. For simplicity of comparison, Hydraulics is the liquid version of pneumatics. The use for hydraulics is great for increasing the total power of a force, working off the physics of Fluid Dynamics. Hydraulics also have different types of applications, such as Pumps,Breaks, and, Presses. They are commonly used in airplanes for controlling flight controls. As well as landing gear, and almost every system on planes (most modern planes anyway.) Older planes used rods, or even ropes to transfer the energy, which loses the benefit of increasing the overall power.
